When I saw this the other day on Facebook, I knew I would have to make it soon. So I made the cabbage steaks tonight along with some deliciously sauteed onions and mushrooms. You can find the original recipe on my Facebook timeline if interested.
Here is how I did it.
- I cut the cabbage head into 4 thick slices, bigger than 1 inch each. I sprayed nonstick on the pan and set them on the pan.
- Then I mixed fresh garlic, about 6 cloves, into a bowl with some EVOO. Since I do not have a pastry brush, I spooned the EVOO mixture on top of each piece and then used the back side of the spoon to spread it around evenly.
- I topped wtih rock salt and fresh ground pepper. I carefully flipped them and coated the other side.
- I placed in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. Then I VERY CAREFULLY flipped them again and cooked them for another 25 minutes.
