I saw this recipe on a video yesterday and I knew immediately I would have to try making them on my own. That is exactly what I did today.
This is the recipe I used for the dish.
1 lb of thinly sliced tender steak (I used NY strip)
1 onion and 1 green pepper finely chopped
2 sheets of puff pastry (typically found in frozen section under desserts)
1 jar of sliced mushrooms
2/3 cup milk
Provolone cheese thinly sliced (you can use whatever cheese you prefer)
tbsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
Sautee the onion and pepper in EVOO until onions start to turn clear. Add mushrooms. Set aside. Then sear the meat until brown. Add back the onions and peppers and then add garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir in the milk. Let it simmer on low 5-10 mins.
Slice the pasty sheets into 9 equal square pieces. Spray muffin tin with non-stick. Make a pastry cup in each of the muffin cups. Fill with the meat mixture.
Place in 400 degree over for about 10-12 mins. Remove from oven and top each cup with cheese. Put back in the over until the cheese is melted the way you like it.
