I tried another new recipe today. Again, I saw pictures of these cheesey meatballs on Facebook. They were easy to make and they are super yummy. They use spicy Italian sausage and have a little kick to them. The recipe is found below.
1 lb beef
1 lb ground spicy Italian sausage (I used links and removed the meat from the casing)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped parsley
Mozzarella cheese cubed about 1 inch in size
Marinara or other sauce of your choosing
Combine all ingredients, except for the Mozzarella, in a large bowl. Knead and mix well. Roll the mixture in to a ball. The size I used was between a gold ball and a tennis ball. Press one of the cubes of cheese into the center of each ball and reshape it back into a ball.
Cover the bottom of your crock pot with some of the Marinara sauce. Place balls the cover the bottom. Pour sauce on top of the balls and place another layer of balls and sauce.
Cook on HIGH for about 2.5 hours.
