 The Lord's Prayer

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy KINGDOM COME, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven....

It's funny how things seem to come together during certain times in your life. This is one of those times for me and I am going to break it down into three related parts below.

Right now were on day 13 of our #21DaysofPrayerandFasting.  This has been an interesting time for me.  I have really been soaking in my daily S.O.A.P. devotionals.  The scriptures have seemed really clear during this time.  I love that because sometimes it can be challenging to derive meaning or understanding.  But not right now!

PART 2
I've started reading the book "All In" by Mark Batterson during this time as well.  I am not complete but the big picture of the book is a challenge to not be a halfway Christian but to FULLY follow Christ. We don't LEAD him with our choices, we FOLLOW him with our choices.  It's a great challenge because if I am totally honest, I do not do that.

This morning at at special prayer meeting Pastor Mike brought up the Lord's Prayer. He pointed out the phrase "Kingdom Come" during his opening of the meeting. He then said a phrase that brings this all together: KINGDOM CURRENT.

When we pray and fast we bring ourselves closer into alignment with God...In essence getting into His current and out of our own current.

I immediately thought about OTHER people when he said that. I thought about people who may be coming to church tomorrow for the first time.  I thought that they may be dipping their toes into that current for the first time to see how it feels, much like we do with pool water before getting in.

Then my thoughts turned to myself, and the book ALL IN and my recent experience with my daily devo.  I realized that Pastor Mike's phrase KINGDOM CURRENT was meant for me too.

Am I all in?

I think I have more than than a toe in the water, but I am clearly not submersed in His current. In fact, I can say that there may be times when I can work against it.

I really like the imagery of being in His current. It helps highlight the things I can do to be truly ALL IN.  While I challenge myself, let me boldly challenge you to ask if you are in His current, and if so, are you ALL IN?

I look forward to Kingdom Come, but first, I must be in Kingdom CURRENT.
